Dear CCS Families,

The CCS High School Students are hosting a “Popsicles, Pickles & Popcorn” fundraiser during lunchtime Monday, November 10 through Thursday, November 20. Students can purchase any of the three items for $1 each. All proceeds will support our CCS High School Homecoming event in January.

This fundraiser is open to all students, so everyone can join in on the fun!

Please send cash in an envelope with your student, labeled “popsicles fundraiser.” Exact change is appreciated.

Participation is optional, but feel free to join in as many times as you’d like throughout the fundraiser dates!

Thank you for supporting our High School and helping make Homecoming a memorable event for our high school students!

On October 18, our CCS Varsity Cheerleaders spent the morning serving at Our Daily Bread Ministries. They handed out meals, water, flowers, and bagged food — but more importantly, they offered kindness, smiles, and love in Jesus’ name.

We are grateful to Our Daily Bread Ministries for allowing us to serve alongside them, and to Mr. John Hair for taking the time to speak to the girls. His example of humble service and his encouragement to serve the Lord wholeheartedly was a reminder the girls will carry with them.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,

and to give His life as a ransom for many.” — Mark 10:45

Our hope is that these girls continue to carry this truth — that real leadership begins with a servant’s heart.

At Courtney Christian School, Lion of the Month is more than just an award. It is an honor that recognizes students who reflect excellence in both character and academics. This recognition celebrates the heart of a student who lives in a way that points others to Christ through their actions and attitudes. It goes beyond achievement, acknowledging students who encourage, uplift, and inspire those around them while honoring God in all they do.

This month’s Junior High Lion of the Month is Alona Augello!

Alona demonstrates respect in the classroom by listening, asking questions, participating, and following directions. Her personality shines brightly, showing both confidence and kindness. She is strong in academics and leadership, and she continues to grow in honor, respect, peer relationships, and Christian character.

Alona stands out not by imitation, but by being true to herself and the values she represents. We are so proud of her for being a shining example of what it means to be a Lion who lives with excellence and builds others up.

Congratulations, Alona!

This month’s Senior High Lion of the Month is Will DePriest!

Will consistently goes out of his way to help fellow students without being asked. He is kind, motivated, and always willing to serve others. His maturity and academic growth are evident, and he stands firm in making the right choices, even in the face of peer pressure. In the classroom, Will is a great listener, asking thoughtful questions about lessons. He demonstrates teamwork in group learning, maintains a growth mindset, and even takes initiative to help keep the class clean. His example shows what it truly means to lead with integrity and humility.

Congratulations, Will!

Mrs. Raiford’s English III and Dual Enrollment students had the opportunity to attend Southeastern’s Common Read Event, where they heard from poet and author José Olivarez. Students listened to him read his poetry, share insights about his work, and answer thoughtful questions from the audience.

After the event, they enjoyed lunch in the student union and a beautiful walk around campus. It was a meaningful experience that combined literature, learning, and a glimpse of college life.

CCS High School Community Service Hours Requirements

All students in grades 8 through 11 will be required to complete 10 community service hours during the 2025–2026 school year. These service hours are essential for fostering personal growth, encouraging community involvement, and developing valuable life skills. Volunteering also helps prepare students for future challenges and responsibilities.

Each student will receive a Community Service Hours Log Sheet to record their service activities. In order to receive credit, a supervising adult must print their name and provide a signature confirming the hours served.

Example:
If a CCS high school student works in the concession stand during a basketball game for one hour, they must fill out the log sheet and have the supervising adult sign off on the time served.

Students are responsible for keeping track of their log sheet and should submit it to Mrs. Jessica in the office once 10 hours have been completed.

Please Note:

  • Hours must be recorded in increments of 0.5 or 1 full hour.
(Do not log partial increments such as 10 or 15 minutes.)

  • Service hours are cumulative and will be tracked throughout the student’s high school years.

  • After completing the service hours, students must write a brief reflection describing how the experience has helped them grow personally and the importance of being involved in their community.

  • Turn in the completed Community Service Hours Log to the high school office by May 1, 2026.

We are proud to announce that 100% of our students who took the Microsoft Office Assessment have successfully passed the course!

The following students have earned their Microsoft Office Specialist certification:

  • Zayne Hernandez

  • Annabelle Lamonte

  • Brylee Matherne

  • Mason Maurin

  • Jacelyn Melancon

  • James Rimmer

  • Quinn Turner

  • Jude Vidrine

Congratulations to each of you on this outstanding achievement! Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. We are incredibly proud of your success and look forward to seeing how you use these valuable skills in the future!
